Program / Control and Automation Engineering
Objective
To train professionals capable of projecting, designing, innovating, directing, maintaining, and researching equipment, devices, and control systems taking into account the quality of work processes, the efficient use of energy and natural resources, information systems, and environmental impact, with an integral vision of the social, economic and industrial development of the country.
Candidate's Profile
Knowledge in mathematics, physics, handling, and application of information formulated in diverse symbolic and computational graphic languages, as well as reading comprehension of English. Likewise, they must have skills in analysis and synthesis of information, logical reasoning, and oral and written expression. As well as attitudes of respect, responsibility, and teamwork.
Graduate's profile
At the end of his career, the graduate will be able to base and apply the scientific and technological knowledge, as well as the skills, attitudes, and values necessary for the exercise of his profession for the benefit of society and the development of the nation.
Will be able to:
- Design, build and maintain devices, equipment, and machines.
- Project, design, and put into operation plants and systems that integrate equipment.
- Research, adapt, and build new technologies and knowledge.
- To propose, organize, advise and direct service, manufacturing, and maintenance companies in the area of their competence.
- Apply the national, international and institutional, technical, legal, ethical, ecological, hygiene and safety standards inherent to their professional activity.
- To train, instruct and coach various personnel in their fields of competence.
Understand, apply and develop the basic scientific, technical, and socio-economic principles of engineering.
- Manage the principles and applications of other disciplines related to the engineering of their specialty.
- Obtain and process information orally and in writing for projects and research.
- Apply analytical, logical, creative, and innovative thinking for problem analysis and decision-making.
- Use the processes, methods, instruments, and tools of their specialty.
Academic Requirements
The requirements to become a student at the Institute are:
- To comply with the academic background and other requirements indicated in the respective call for applications.
- To take the admission exam for the higher level.
- To be selected for admission.
Work Field
The more than 1300 graduates of the career are located within the national productive apparatus as follows:
- 40% of the graduates have found employment opportunities in basic industries such as: petroleum, electric energy, food, pharmaceutical, etc…
- Another 40% in the transformation industries: chemical, petrochemical, refining, cement, cement, iron and steel, paper, rubber, glass, etc…
- 15% in service industries such as: maquiladoras, car assembly plants, computer services (hardware and software), communications, reengineering, energy saving, pollution, etc.
- And 05% are dedicated to teaching.
