Objective
To train professionals with a high sense of ethics and commitment to their community in the field of computer technology capable of approaching and making decisions with creativity, order, and method about technological problems; capable of designing, designing, evaluating, and directing from different points of view and with scientific-technological foundations, devices or systems that solve problems in the area of computing. With relevant training in the areas of physics-mathematics, computer engineering, programming, electronics, and communications, able to communicate their ideas through language and integrate projects that include impact and feasibility. To value the importance of teamwork, promoting cooperation, tolerance, solidarity, and responsibility, as well as to analyze and value the effects that technological development causes in the world of work, the socioeconomic environment, and the environment that will allow them to successfully integrate into the productive activity at the end of their studies.
Candidate's Profile
The applicant to study one of the engineering careers taught at ESIME must have the following basic knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values:
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of the background Physical-Mathematical sciences.
- Reading fluency and comprehension, as well as the ability to express themselves through everyday and scientific languages, both orally and in writing.
- Logical reasoning skills: analysis, synthesis, and application of knowledge.
- Use of the scientific methodology.
- Understanding, handling, and application of information formulated in different languages: graphic, symbolic and computational, as well as reading comprehension of English.
- Manual skills for laboratory work with specialized instruments.
- Willingness for self-learning that favors their intellectual, affective, and social development.
- Creativity to solve new situations, achieve improvements, and solve problems.
- Willingness to work in teams.

Graduate's profile
At the end of his career, the graduate will be able to base and apply the scientific and technological knowledge, as well as the skills, attitudes, and values necessary for the exercise of his profession for the benefit of society and the development of the nation; in terms of:
- Design, construction, and maintenance of devices, equipment, and machines of the branch of engineering studied.
- Projection, design, and start-up of plants and systems that integrate equipment of the branch of engineering. Research, adaptation, and construction of new technologies and knowledge.
- Planning, organization, consulting, and management of service, manufacturing, and maintenance companies in the area of their competence.
- Application of national, international, and institutional, technical, legal, ethical, ecological, hygiene and safety standards inherent to their professional activity.
- Qualification, instruction, and training in the branches of its competence, to diverse personnel.
- Understanding, applying and developing the basic scientific, technical, and socioeconomic principles of engineering.
- Management of the principles and applications of other disciplines related to the engineering of their specialty.
- Obtaining oral and written information processing and communication for projects and research.
- Communication in English, with their peers, orally and in writing.
- Application of analytical, logical, creative, and innovative thinking for analysis and problem solving, and decision making.
- Use of the processes, methods, instruments, and tools of engineering in their specialty.

The graduate will be able to:
- Design, evaluate and manage Computer systems. of Hardware and Software in the areas of Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Interfaces, Automation, and Communication Networks.
- Research, create, innovate, adapt and build new technologies and knowledge in this area.
- Planned, organize, advise, and direct service, manufacturing and maintenance companies in the area of their competence.
- Apply national, international, and institutional, technical, legal, ethical, ecological, hygiene and safety standards inherent to their professional activity.
- Train, instruct, and coach various types of personnel in their fields of competence.
- Understand, apply and develop the basic scientific, technical, and socioeconomic principles of engineering.

Work Field
The most recent developments in the field of Computer Engineering include applications in digital systems design, signal processing, image processing, telecommunications, computer networks, computer architecture, and operating systems design, among others. On the other hand, there is an extensive emphasis on the use of the computer as a tool for mathematical analysis, information analysis design, and instrumentation.
