“The Hecho en México seal places us at the forefront of the education sector. Receiving it confirms that the name of the Politécnico stands for quality and excellence,”: Arturo Reyes Sandoval.

The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) received the Hecho en México distinction awarded by Mexico’s Ministry of Economy. The seal identifies products manufactured in the country and guarantees their quality and origin. In this case, it also recognizes the Institute’s strategic role in talent development, research, innovation, technological advancement, and the generation of solutions that positively impact the nation.

IPN Director General Arturo Reyes Sandoval emphasized that receiving the seal—and the authorization to use its logo as a registered commercial mark for promotional purposes—acknowledges the Institute’s longstanding commitment to excellence, which has been rigorously upheld throughout its 90-year history.

“The Hecho en México seal positions us at the forefront of the education sector. Receiving it confirms that the name of the Politécnico is synonymous with quality and excellence. It also grants us exclusive rights that safeguard the prestige each member of our community has built through daily dedication to the Instituto Politécnico Nacional,” he stated.

Reyes Sandoval added that the distinction strengthens the IPN’s social mission and renews its unwavering commitment to excellence.

“We pledge to ensure that this seal represents a promise of value for the entire Politécnico community and a source of confidence for society. By granting us this distinction, you validate not only a technical standard but also the strategic value of Higher Education as a driver of national well-being. For that, we are deeply grateful,” he said.

Julieta Olivia Muñoz Olmos, Director of Institutional Strategy and representative of Luis Gutiérrez Reyes, Director General of Financing and Support at the Ministry of Economy, described the award as a statement of identity.

“This seal recognizes those who produce with quality, innovation, and commitment—and the Instituto Politécnico Nacional embodies all of these qualities. For decades, the Politécnico has been a pillar of national development and aligns seamlessly with the objectives of the Hecho en México Program,” she affirmed.

María Bárbara Botello Santibáñez, head of the National Brand Plan Hecho en México and representative of Minister of Economy Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, underscored that education remains the most powerful instrument for achieving development. She recalled the IPN’s collaboration in supporting the Las Joyas community in León, Guanajuato, which has experienced significant improvements in quality of life.

“Hecho en México affirms confidence in our national capabilities. It recognizes that our country generates knowledge, innovation, technology, and solutions with social impact and a forward-looking vision. Since its founding, the IPN has demonstrated a profound commitment to Mexico’s development. Today, we recognize the work carried out in its classrooms, laboratories, research centers, and outreach spaces. It is authentically Hecho en México: knowledge with identity,” she said.

Bertha Alicia Caraveo Camarena, Coordinator of the Welfare Council at the Ministry of Economy, stated that the IPN exemplifies how excellence, innovation, and technological education—when made in Mexico- are made better.”

Also serving as General Coordinator of the Higher Education Network for Mexico’s Economic Development (Redemex)—an initiative of the Ministry of Economy designed to connect academic knowledge with the country’s industrial and economic development needs—she emphasized the importance of collaboration among universities, industry, and the Ministry of Economy, always guided by the IPN’s motto, La Técnica al Servicio de la Patria.

To conclude the ceremony, Arturo Reyes Sandoval presented Julieta Olivia Muñoz Olmos with her IPN alumni credential, recognizing her academic background at the institution, where she also served as faculty member and Comptroller.
