Objective

To train professionals with advanced knowledge in disciplines aligned to urban mobility, including social, environmental, economic, technological and other alternative modes for urban mobility systems and transportation of people and goods, attentive to compliance with national and international regulatory frameworks and quality indicators, in order to contribute to the social and sustainable development of the country.

Candidate's Profile

  • Interest in the use of information and communication technologies applied to the development of learning activities.
  • Intermediate and applied mastery in the areas of logic, algebra and statistics, in addition to the following knowledge, skills and attitudes:

    • In topics of general interest and current affairs on the situation of urban mobility (people and goods) in Mexico and the World.
    • Intermediate in the use of information technologies.

    • Logical reasoning.
    • Affinity for the interdisciplinary study perspective.
    • Application of creativity in the analysis of information.
    • Handles computer equipment.

Graduate's profile

The Urban Mobility Engineer is a professional who has the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to meet needs and present solutions for urban mobility sustainably, in all aspects of the system; attentive to the expectations of the population and social commitment to reduce the differences and lags of transport systems, the territory, and the population. To this end:

  • Uses available technologies, according to the needs of its environment.
  • Contributes to technology transfer, in coordination with municipal, state, federal, and private agencies.
  • Articulates proposals and solutions for the different dimensions that constitute mobility: territorial, social, economic, political, and environmental.

Academic Requirements

The requirements to become a student at the Institute are:

  1. To comply with the academic background and other requirements indicated in the respective call for applications.
  2. To take the admission exam for the higher level.
  3. To be selected for admission.

Work Field

The Urban Mobility Engineer works in public or private companies oriented to urban mobility for both people and goods, developing evaluations of transportation projects, and may participate in the design, project management, planning, and operation of urban mobility systems.

  • He works in areas of government governing mobility in the supervision of the operation or planning of urban passenger transport modalities in cities.
  • In merchandise distribution companies to plan and operate the distribution within the cities.
  • In transportation companies, of any modality, in the design, planning, and operation of urban transportation companies.
  • As an independent advisor and consultant.
