Objective

To train competent professionals in the management of the operational strategy of international trade, through the application of the legal framework and the strategic planning of import and export of goods and services. The program, through the distance modality, allows to meet the demand for professional experts in international trade in strategic areas in the national territory; so that to enable them to make decisions that contribute to increasing the competitiveness of organizations in a globalized economy.

Candidate's Profile

To define the entry profile of the Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, it was necessary to analyze the internal and external references, the comparative analysis of the Higher Education Institutions and International Higher Education Institutions that offer the Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Foreign Trade, Foreign Trade, and Customs and Customs Sciences and Foreign Trade; as well as the graduate profile of the CECyT 5 "Bénito Juárez" Technician in International Trade of the Institute itself.

The applicant to the Bachelor's Degree in International Trade must have basic knowledge and skills related to English, Mathematics, Accounting and Finance, ICT's, Economics, Administration, Law, Research Methodology, to guarantee an adequate performance. They must also have the necessary attitudes and values to take responsibility for their training process to take responsibility for their training process, especially in terms of responsibility, continuous improvement and ethical development.

The applicant must meet the requirements established in the call for the IPN undergraduate admission exam and demonstrate:

Graduate's profile

The professional in international trade directs and develops import and export strategies for goods and services by legal regulations and bilingual training; identifies and applies international trade legislation as a means of defense; foresees and resolves foreign trade audits; distinguishes the provisions, regulations, and tariff and non-tariff restrictions that apply to the commercial exchange of goods and services. Performs as a professional, socially responsible, and acts ethically, transparently, and efficiently in the operative legal management of international trade.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Identifies the legal norms and criteria in national and international customs matters.
  • Explain the operation and management of national and international customs, their classification, and traffic.
  • Identifies the Free Trade Agreements and Treaties of which Mexico is part and the regulations that emanate from them.

  • Distinguishes the means of defense, before the final resolutions by the Authority.
  • Founds the resources, means of transportation, and logistics techniques applicable to foreign trade.
  • Explain the computer systems for customs management, tariff classification and, tracking of goods in international transportation.
  • Infer the relevant aspects that will allow the integration of international contracts.

Work Field

Whit the Bachelor's Degree in International Trade will be able to work professionally in the following areas:

  • Secretariats and public sector agencies linked to the promotion and development of international trade, in the positions of official in Secretariats of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs as commercial attaché in Mexican embassies abroad and representative offices; agencies such as Bancomext and Nafin; in the Ministry of Finance, in the General Administration of Customs, General Administration of Federal Tax Audit, Legal Administration and Administration of Large Taxpayers in the positions of the customs authority, customs examiner, port administrators, and railway terminals, international organizations and agencies, related to the promotion, and development of international trade, as officials.
  • Public and private, national and foreign companies with import and export activities of goods and services, in the positions of directors, managers, and responsible in the areas of international trade: logistics, tariffs, shipments, customs, marketing, traffic, foreign trade dispute counseling and export, and import projects.
  • In Customs Agencies as a customs agent, responsible for activities of: attention, processing, quotation, and classification or as a customs agent.
  • In own or third party business consulting companies, in the positions of manager and consultant in planning, operation, and development of operations and international trade projects.
  • In international cargo transportation companies: air, sea, land, rail, and multimodal.
  • In courier and parcel companies.
  • Independent professional, as advisor and support to export and import operations of goods and services.
