Objective

To train high-level professionals in the field of Biotechnological Engineering who contribute to the welfare and national technological development through the application and generation of knowledge that is linked to the needs of the productive and social sectors.

Candidate's Profile

To enter the biotechnological engineering career it is required:

  • To have completed high school studies, preferably in physics-mathematics or medical-biological areas.
  • To take and be accepted in the entrance exam to the Institute.
  • Any other requirements established in the call for admission to the Institute.
  • Previous knowledge of biology, organic chemistry, mathematics, physics, English, and computer science.

Graduate's profile

Knowledge

  • Mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, and communication sciences relevant to the development of biotechnological engineering and the rational use of natural resources.
  • Production engineering and recovery of biotechnological products.
  • Social development ethics economics and administration relevant to the understanding of the socio-economic environment and to the development of self-employment skills and development of technology-based enterprises.
  • Phonetic and syntactic grammar in Spanish and English.

  • Design, develop, operate and optimize bioprocesses for the production and recovery of biotechnological products.
