Visiting students highlighted the prestige of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional and the advantages offered by its academic exchange programs.

The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) welcomed 23 international students and 22 Mexican students from various higher education institutions, who will spend a semester at different academic units of the Institute as part of the Visiting Academic Mobility Program.

During the welcoming ceremony, Yessica Gasca Castillo, Secretary of Innovation and Social Integration, encouraged the visiting students to make the most of the academic environment provided by the IPN to broaden their knowledge and to exchange best practices with those of their home institutions.

Speaking on behalf of the IPN’s Director General, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, she emphasized that “becoming IPN ambassadors implies a deep commitment to honor, duty, and service to the community, as well as the aspiration to serve as examples of integrity and responsibility with full conviction.”

She added that, within the framework of the IPN’s 90th anniversary celebrations, the visiting students will have access to a wide range of cultural and sports activities. Over the course of their six-month stay, they are encouraged to fully embrace the experience and share it with their communities upon returning home.

On behalf of the participating students, Rebours Tanguy Marie Benoît Louis-Pierret, from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne, noted that the IPN represents an excellent opportunity to experience a new approach to learning and academic exchange.

“The IPN is a highly prestigious institution, recognized for its multidisciplinary character, which is a true strength. This exchange fosters interaction among students from different countries and fields, and also offers the opportunity to discover Mexican culture—a vibrant country with strong values, remarkable landscapes, and a rich musical tradition,” he said.

Students participating in this academic period come from the Mexican states of Puebla, Sonora, Oaxaca, Baja California, Coahuila, Guerrero, San Luis Potosí, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, and Mexico City, as well as from France, Colombia, El Salvador, and Chile.

The academic units hosting the largest number of visiting students are the Higher School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ESIME), Zacatenco Unit; the Interdisciplinary Professional Unit of Biotechnology (UPIBI); the Higher School of Commerce and Administration (ESCA), Santo Tomás Unit; and ESIME, Azcapotzalco Unit.
