The IPN's Robotics in Germany

Dr. Raúl Rojas González, a graduate of the Escuela Superior de Física y Matemáticas (ESFM) at the IPN and a researcher in robotics at the Free University of Berlin, is internationally recognized for his prolific contributions to computer science and mechatronics, as well as his role in training excellent professionals.

He completed a Ph.D. in Economics at the Free University of Berlin, where he also obtained his Habilitation, an additional post-doctoral degree that exists only in Germany, in the field of Computer Science.

In 2015, he was honored as the Professor of the Year by the Society of Professors in Germany. In the same year, Rojas González also received the National Prize for Science and Arts from the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) for his contributions to the field of mechatronics and computer science.

A German naturalized scientist, known for developing autonomous vehicles guided by computers, he is committed to fostering the education of high-quality human resources at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, sharing his knowledge to enrich education in Mexico.

His social commitment is evident in other projects, such as reading devices for the visually impaired, with a video camera mounted on glasses that automatically reads text, for which he received the WissensWerte Technology Transfer Award from the city of Berlin, as well as autonomous wheelchairs that respond to verbal commands or brainwave control.

Furthermore, the specialist in Artificial Intelligence and robotics has received awards for his academic achievements in Germany, Great Britain, Austria, Sweden, the United States, and, of course, the "Lázaro Cárdenas" medal in 2015, awarded by his alma mater, among other recognitions. He is also the author of fundamental computer science books, scientific articles, and popular science publications.
