IPN Students Shine at the 2025 National Gymnasiade

The students earned 15 gold, silver, and bronze medals in swimming.

The swimming delegation of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) captured 15 medals—gold, silver, and bronze—at the 2025 National Gymnasiade, an event organized by the Mexican Federation of School Sports (FEMEDEES) at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP).

Alan Giovanni García, a student at the Unidad Profesional Interdisciplinaria en Ingeniería y Tecnologías Avanzadas (UPIITA), claimed two gold medals in the 200- and 100-meter events. Maximiliano Soberanes Trinidad, from the Escuela Superior de Cómputo (ESCOM), won gold in the 200 meters, while Carlos Irving Márquez Núñez, of the Escuela Superior de Comercio y Administración (ESCA) Santo Tomás, earned gold in the 50-meter freestyle. All three excelled in freestyle events.

Beatriz Eunice Moreno Ruiz, from the Escuela Nacional de Medicina y Homeopatía (ENMyH), earned silver and bronze in the 200-meter breaststroke. Andrea Abril Pérez Ramírez, a student at the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica (ESIME) Culhuacán, took silver in the 1,500-meter freestyle and bronze in the 400-meter individual medley.

Silver medals were also awarded to Luis Javier Mendoza Ruiz, from ESIME, in the 100-meter backstroke; Itzá Sofía Betanzos López, from the Centro de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos (CECyT) No. 12 "José María Morelos", in the 200-meter breaststroke; and Ximena Lizeth Cruz Olguín, of the Escuela Superior de Enfermería y Obstetricia (ESEO), in the 200-meter breaststroke.

Bronze medalists included Rodrigo Romero Ojeda in the 200-meter individual medley and Celeste Libertad Ávila López, both from ESIME Azcapotzalco, as well as Aranza Moreno Blas, of the Escuela Superior de Turismo (EST), in the 1,500-meter freestyle, and Demián Donjuán in the 100-meter freestyle.

The athletes demonstrated speed, technique, and perseverance, confirming that discipline, effort, dedication, and passion yield rewards. The IPN applauds their commitment, celebrates their achievements, and wishes them continued success in upcoming competitions!
