IPN and National Lottery Sign Collaboration Agreement and Unveil Commemorative Ticket Honoring the IPN Historical Archive

• IPN Director General Arturo Reyes Sandoval described the lottery ticket as a well-deserved tribute to the Institute’s history through the preservation of its memory.

• “I am convinced that this partnership will open doors to joint projects that will have a real impact on the lives of Mexican people,” said Olivia Salomón, Head of the National Lottery.

The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and the Lotería Nacional unveiled the ticket for Sorteo Superior No. 2861 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the IPN Historical Archive, which safeguards the memory, identity, and legacy of one of Mexico’s most prominent educational and technological institutions.

At the Centro Histórico y Cultural “Juan de Dios Bátiz”, IPN Director General Dr. Arturo Reyes Sandoval and National Lottery Director General Olivia Salomón signed a General Agreement on academic, scientific, and technological collaboration, aimed at strengthening the partnership between both institutions.

Dr. Reyes Sandoval emphasized that this agreement brings together two of the most emblematic institutions in Mexico’s national life, expressing confidence that this strategic alliance will soon yield tangible benefits for students and society as a whole.

Both institutions have played an essential role in the country’s development. Each was created with a deeply social purpose—to serve communities with fewer economic opportunities. That is why we are proud to formalize this first Collaboration Agreement,” stated Dr. Reyes Sandoval.

Regarding the commemorative ticket marking the 25th anniversary of the IPN Historical Archive, Dr. Reyes Sandoval highlighted that it represents a well-deserved homage to the Institute’s legacy and the preservation of its most significant documents, which safeguard the memory of this invaluable collection. “If there is one educational institution that has been an active part of Mexico’s history, it is the Instituto Politécnico Nacional: a national pride, a cradle of talent, science, and technology in the service of the nation.”, affirmed Olivia Salomón.

The head of the National Lottery noted that, to honor such a symbolic space, the institution issued a commemorative ticket celebrating a quarter century of the IPN Historical Archive—one that will reach every corner of the country, carrying with it a fragment of the Institute’s living history and recognizing the legacy of generations of Mexicans devoted to knowledge, science, and public service.

Olivia Salomón also emphasized that the collaboration agreement between the National Lottery and the IPN represents a significant step toward building capacities and synergies that foster innovation, knowledge, and institutional development. “I am convinced that this alliance will open doors to joint projects that will have a real impact on the lives of Mexican people,” she affirmed.

She recalled that the National Lottery, with 255 years of history, is the second-oldest institution in Mexico. In this new stage, as part of the Fourth Transformation and under the leadership of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the institution aligns with her vision and foundational pillars of public education, science, and collective memory—working toward a fairer, more prosperous, and more dignified country.

In closing, she addressed the IPN academic community, acknowledging its role as a driver of Mexico’s development and expressing her gratitude for the preservation efforts undertaken by the Historical Archive over the past 25 years. “May this unveiling serve as a heartfelt recognition of your history, your legacy, and the indelible mark that the Instituto Politécnico Nacional has left on our nation,” she concluded.
