Joint initiatives to promote innovation and entrepreneurship development. The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) has signed a General Collaboration Agreement with the Wadhwani Foundation to establish a framework for developing innovative and entrepreneurial projects with the potential to become viable and sustainable businesses. The agreement also includes plans to jointly organize workshops, training sessions, seminars, and events aimed at strengthening entrepreneurial skills.

The Wadhwani Foundation is a nonprofit technology organization dedicated to social impact. Since its founding in 2001, the foundation—active across Asia, Africa, and Latin America—has pursued a clear mission: to accelerate job growth and enable millions of people to earn a dignified income, support their families, and improve their quality of life.

Its work is structured around four core initiatives: entrepreneurship, skilling, innovation and research, and digital government transformation.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, IPN Director General Arturo Reyes Sandoval emphasized that the Politécnico is one of the few tuition-free public universities in Mexico, and has spent more than two decades promoting entrepreneurship not only as an option for students, but as a true life project.

He also noted that in recent years, IPN has consistently ranked as the second-highest university in the country for patent generation, thanks in part to its entrepreneurship model and the work of the Directorate of Technology-Based Enterprises (DIET)—a team of highly experienced consultants in scientific and technological innovation.

Dr. Ajay Kela, President and CEO of the Wadhwani Foundation, reaffirmed the foundation’s mission: to ensure that at least one member of every family can access meaningful employment and a dignified income. With its presence in Mexico, the foundation aims to benefit more than 54,000 entrepreneurs.

Also present at the signing were Diego Mauricio Navarro Huber, Vice President of the Entrepreneurship Initiative at the Wadhwani Foundation for Latin America; Mauricio Igor Jasso Zaranda, IPN General Secretary; Ismael Jaidar Monter, Academic Secretary; and Yessica Gasca Castillo, Secretary for Innovation and Social Integration.
