"The Instituto Politécnico Nacional has a dignified infrastructure," said the General Director of the IPN, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, at the inauguration of seven Physics, Chemistry, and Biology Laboratories of the Centro de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos (CECyT) 4 "Lázaro Cárdenas" whose investment amounted to 5.7 million pesos and which were remodeled to support the training of 5,000 students.
At the ceremony, held in the auditorium of this campus, Reyes Sandoval assured the students: "You are developing in an institution privileged by all its infrastructure that allows for quality training and excellence.
"The increase in student enrollment requires first-world facilities. It is important to emphasize that you are in an institution that has a great infrastructure, you see it every day here at CECyT 4," said the head of the IPN, highlighting the support of Fundación Politécnico A.C., parents, and the campus community, to achieve the remodeling of the laboratories.
He emphasized that today we are fulfilling our commitment to settle old debts with the community of this university to strengthen and renew the Politécnico. He commented that in the short term, this important investment will have a positive impact on the learning and academic results of the students, to strengthen the training of future professionals.
"We want them to strengthen all these capabilities, to be very successful jaguars (as the students of this campus are called because of their soccer team), so that they can put on high: 'La Técnica al Servicio de la Patria', he concluded.
The president of Fundación Politécnico, A.C., Jesús Padilla Zenteno, a proud graduate of this school, explained that the delivery of the laboratories is in addition to other contributions made by the institution he heads, such as lockers for the soccer team, furniture for teachers and administrative workers, as well as a vehicle for personnel transportation.
"Life is made of moments; I hope that for some of you, this moment will mark you because at the age you are, is when many of the pillars of life are planted," he said.
The director of CECyT 4 "Lázaro Cárdenas", Luis Manuel Hidalgo Álvarez, explained that the delivery of the laboratories is the result of the effort and work of the parents and the young students, since through their donations and with the support of Fundación Politécnico, this project was made possible.
In the three Physics Laboratories, 30 work tables were installed, with the appropriate specifications for the performance of practices in this area; in addition, a cabinet was replaced and the facilities were remodeled.
The three Chemistry Laboratories were re-equipped with 21 work tables, 6 cabinets were replaced, and installations were renovated. In the Biology Laboratory, 11 work tables were installed, two cabinets were replaced and its facilities were upgraded.
At the end of the ceremony, accompanied by school authorities and students, Reyes Sandoval toured the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology Laboratories, where professors Laura Carranza Calderón, Ramón Trejo Corona, and José María Arce Orozco explained the practices carried out in these educational spaces.
Afterward, the authorities went to the swimming pool and the hangar (where they were photographed with two aircraft: Sabreliner and Learjet 35). Finally, they visited the Los Jaguares soccer field, where they concluded the event with a ¡huélum! dedicated to CECyT 4.
