Facilities across various Polytechnic campuses hosted matches featuring more than 100 teams.

The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) served as host of the Women’s and Men’s U-23 National Volleyball Championship, held this past weekend.

The finals, played on the court of the Carillón Gymnasium at IPN’s Santo Tomás campus, determined the national champions in both divisions after a series of highly competitive matches.

In the women’s division, Mexico City’s team claimed the national title by defeating Club Valkyrias of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) in straight sets, 25–22 and 25–20, in a closely contested match marked by strong technical performance.

In the men’s division, Club Valencia from the State of Mexico secured the championship after overcoming Team Tresa of Veracruz with scores of 24–17 and 28–26 in a dynamic match where service efficiency and offensive execution proved decisive.

With this result, Valencia earned back-to-back titles, consolidating its position as one of the strongest teams in the category. The silver medal went to Tresa of Veracruz, while Guerrero A claimed bronze.

In the women’s third-place match, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) secured the podium position after defeating Club Dragones of Morelos in two sets, 25–20 and 27–25.

The final day brought together teams from across the country, showcasing a high level of competition and reaffirming the tournament as a key platform for the development of U-23 volleyball in Mexico.

Matches were held at multiple venues, including the Central Gymnasium in Zacatenco, the Carillón Gymnasium in Santo Tomás, the gymnasium at Unidad Profesional Interdisciplinaria de Ingeniería y Ciencias Sociales y Administrativas (UPIICSA), facilities at CECyT 1, 6, and 11, as well as the Escuela Nacional de Medicina y Homeopatía, hosting more than 100 participating teams.

The maroon and white team will compete this year in the National Upper Secondary Schools Championship, while the U-23 squad will take part in the First Division Cup. In the summer, IPN will participate in youth festivals for younger and older categories, and in October, it will compete in the National Club Championship.

With a successful outcome, IPN reaffirms its commitment to promoting and supporting national sports development.
