Within the framework of the Internationalization Program, the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) will send 252 students to universities in Europe, Asia, and America during the January-June 2023 semester, to enrich their professional training by participating in the academic, scientific and technological advances of the global educational community.

At the farewell ceremony for students participating in the International and National Mobility Programs, the Secretary for Innovation and Social Integration, Ricardo Monterrubio López, urged the young people to make the most of the academic and cultural exchange. "Let them know throughout the world that the IPN is also culture, sports, education, art, human quality and is also Mexico".

He said that the students who will represent the Polytechnic in the different countries and states of the country become ambassadors of this house of studies and the months of their stay will be enough to know the academic richness of the destination institutions and to leave to their peers from other universities a little of what is the quality and excellence of the IPN.

He informed that, because of the agreements reached by the IPN Mobility Committee, the resources for the maintenance of international mobility students were increased. He detailed that, for higher national mobility, the resources for transportation and maintenance were also increased.

Monterrubio Lopez emphasized that the Polytechnic has 97 international mobility agreements and more than 122 national mobility options. Addressing the young people, he said, "I am confident that during your stay you will put more Politécnico in the world and implement the IPN motto by putting: 'Technique at the service of the fatherland'."

The secretary general of the IPN, Carlos Ruiz Cárdenas, informed that the Polytechnic students will arrive at universities in Germany, South Korea, France, Japan, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, and Sweden. "In a greater proportion to educational institutions in Chile, Colombia, Spain and India," he added.

Among the universities that will receive more IPN students are the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain), Chandigarh University (India), as well as Universidad de la Sabana and Universidad EIA (both from Colombia).

The IPN academic units with the highest participation in this international program are: Interdisciplinary Professional Unit in Engineering and Advanced Technologies (Upiita) with 30 students; the Higher School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (Esime) Zacatenco, with 27; the Interdisciplinary Professional Unit of Biotechnology (Upibi), with 22 students; the Higher School of Computer Science (Escom), with 20 and Esime Azcapotzalco, with 20.

On behalf of the young people of national mobility, Adolfo Efrén Calva Cruz, a student at the School of Physics and Mathematics, said that no matter where they are, whether it is a country or a state of the Republic, there is something they should never forget: "The institution to which we belong, one of the most important in science, engineering and technology. To carry the name of the IPN is to carry in our hands 86 years of history full of great achievements," he concluded.
