• A record-breaking 109,266 students registered, setting a historic precedent • The two institutions jointly administered the online exam for the first time
In a historic first, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) jointly administered an online entrance exam for upper-secondary education, marking a significant milestone in educational collaboration and digital assessment in Mexico. A total of 107,790 applicants, out of 109,266 registered students, completed the exam—representing an impressive 98.65% participation rate. This figure includes 755 applicants with disabilities, highlighting the exam’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
Supported by a fully digital platform powered by artificial intelligence, the examination was conducted remotely in a secure, standardized environment.
To ensure fairness and academic integrity, each test session featured a unique set of questions, providing equal conditions for all examinees.
The institutions reported 97 technical incidents, all of which were automatically detected by the system and resolved promptly by trained support personnel from both universities.
Additionally, 50 candidates experienced issues related to electricity or internet connectivity at their testing locations. These cases were addressed through personalized support and fully resolved.
