The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), through its Dirección de Educación Media Superior (DEMS) and the Youth Support Foundation, presented five exceptional students with the “Ing. Bernardo Quintana Arrioja” Award, along with 10 honorable mentions and 90 participation diplomas, recognizing their outstanding achievements and remarkable qualities.
During the ceremony, IPN General Director Arturo Reyes Sandoval, accompanied by the Youth Support Foundation's legal representative Vicente Alejandro López Guisa and the 2024 award ambassador Christian Yazbeth Durante González, highlighted that this recognition showcases the talent found among Mexican youth, particularly among the more than 78,000 high school students at IPN.
“To have exemplary young individuals like you, who continue to pursue meaningful life projects, it is essential to have the right actions, circumstances, and, of course, the infrastructure necessary for personal and academic growth, along with the guidance of teachers who help navigate the significant challenges that bring you recognition today,” he said.
The “Ing. Bernardo Quintana Arrioja” Award, he added, is named after a distinguished Mexican civil engineer who made significant contributions to the country's infrastructure during the second half of the 20th century. Today, it honors students excelling in five categories: Academic Excellence, Leadership, Patriotism, Service, and Valor.
This year, two awards in the Patriotism category were granted to Yenedhit Gutiérrez Arellano from the Walter Cross Buchanan Centro de Estudios Tecnológicos (CET 1) and Juan Carlos Guzmán Campa from the Centro de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos (CECyT 3) "Estanislao Ramírez Ruiz".
In the Valor category, awards were presented to Héctor Fidel Hernández Téllez from CECyT 3 and Isis Violeta Garduño Arzate from CECyT 12 “José María Morelos.” The Academic Excellence Award was given to Bryan Adrián Martínez Pérez from CECyT 19 “Leona Vicario” in Tecámac.
For 36 years, this prestigious award has been granted within the Polytechnic to recognize the values and exemplary conduct promoted by Engineer Quintana Arrioja in young individuals committed to the common good of society.
