Farmers and growers need plants that are adapted to the environment in which they are grown and suited to the cultivation practices used. Therefore, farmers and growers use a more precisely defined group of plants, selected from within a species, called a "plant variety". A plant variety is a grouping of plants of a single botanical taxon of the lowest known rank that can be recognized by its characteristics, clearly distinct from those of any other variety, and which will remain unchanged through the process of propagation.
Requirements
To start the protection process it is necessary to define the best intellectual property figure for your development, therefore, it is necessary to perform a background search, for which you need:
a) A letter addressed to the Directorate of Business Services and Technology Transfer requesting the search of technological antecedents of the invention called: "title of the invention", as well as indicating the name of the inventors. b) A summary of the development of maximum 3 pages where the novelty of the same is indicated, and it must contain the following points:
Once the protection figure (patent, utility model or design) has been established, the corresponding descriptive report is prepared and the necessary documentation to continue with the process can be requested from the specialist of the Patent Center, the IPN Unit of Social Integration or the Graduate and Integration Studies Section of your school or center.

Note: In all the documentation, the name of the authors and title of the work must be the same, the formats must not be altered or modified and only add the fields underlined, in blue letters or in white, since any modification delays the registration process before INDAUTOR.

To promote the culture of intellectual protection and technology transfer in the IPN community, you can request a conference, lecture, or workshop through:
